5 Great DIY Accessory Projects...

Tuesday, April 13, 2010| by Will Chen

While much of the reviews and articles on FrugalGuitarist.com have been based on the purchasing side of things, there are a bunch of great ways to save money by building your accessories from readily found materials around the house.

1. Flickr member Aud1073cH's Custom Denim strap made from old jeans and surplus leather slipper soles

2. Armchair Bronco from TDPRI made a pedal board out of the IKEA GORM (with some paint and velcro attached).

3. Another idea from Flickr member Aud1073cH, homemade guitar picks made from everything from old credit cards to the lid of a Toshiba laptop.

4. Over at Instructables.com, member JonathanCM made straplocks out of picks.

5. Elizabeth Seward of Planet Green converted an old leather belt into an acoustic guitar strap.
