Recording Academy Honors Leo Fender

Clarence "Leo" Fender, founder of Fender musical instruments, was honored posthumously at an invitation-only pre GRAMMY ceremony February 7th, 2009 at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

A formal announcement will also be made during the 51st Annual GRAMMY Awards live broadcast Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on the CBS Television Network. Fender’s widow (and Honorary Chairman of G&L Musical Instruments), Phyllis Fender, will accept the award on his behalf.
