Foo Fighters Upset Over Unauthorized Use of "My Hero"

Back in February, John Melloncamp sent a Cease and Desist letter to the McCain campaign for the unauthorized usage of “Little Pink Houses”. Next it was Jackson Browne’s “Running on Empty” (who is consequently suing John McCain, the Republican National Committee, and the Ohio republican Party over the usage).Whoops, Van Halen management was upset over the usage of “Right Now”. A month latter, Ann and Nancy Wilson were up in arms over the use of “Barracuda” to promote vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin and subsequently issued a Cease and Desist letter to the McCain campaign.

But the McCain campaign just can’t seem to take a hint.

The Foo Fighter’s “My Hero” appears to be the latest unauthorized theme song to be adopted by the McCain campaign according to an October 8th press release.  According to the press release, McCain’s usage is "perverting the original sentiment" of the song and “…it's frustrating and infuriating that someone who claims to speak for the American people would repeatedly show such little respect for creativity and intellectual property."
