Free VST Amp Modelers Part 2

Aradaz Amp Crunch and Amp2

Arie Ardiansyah is the developer behind the the Aradaz free amp modeling VSTs. Each plug contains the basic amp controls: gain, bass, middle, treble, and volume. However, Arie has also thoughtfully included an input knob which perhaps was designed to allow consistent tones when switching to a guitar with lower output pickups. However, it really functions as an additional gain stage. Cranking up both the input and the gain allow for gobs of sustain and crunch. The tones are great with a definite Marshall flavor.

Speaker emulation with two different cabinets is also included and the interfaces are beautiful. Arie has reported on his blog that he's working on a new amp. If it sounds anything like these, he could probably make a good chunk of change selling it. Grab these now while they're free...

Fretted Synth FreeAmp3

While there are a plethora free VST effects which sound great, there aren't many which look as good as FreeAmp3. The user interface is extremely well thought out mimicking an amp panel for all the amplifier modeling and stomp boxes for all the effects. They've even included interactive microphone placement!

While the amp modeling tones aren't the smoothest, the effects generally sound very good. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on future developments from Fretted Synth.
