Rain, Rain Don't Go Away!

I find weather extremely inspirational, especially the rain.  Over the years, I've written quite a few songs inspired by the melancholy mood provided by stormy weather.  Yesterday when the sky darkened and we received a little rain, I was ecstatic as it's been at least a month since I've heard the soft sheen of rain on the roof.  However, my upbeat mood was short lived as I watched the forecasted weather hoping for a turn in the 100 degree plus weather we've been experiencing of late.  I can't remember a time when I've seen the forecasted weather with sustained temperatures this high.

If this is a sign of our future weather patterns, as many global warming theories suggest, I wonder what effect it will have on song writing. Will we begin to hear nostalgic pieces on the way the weather used to be? Will we hear more pieces with the languid feel of heat induced laziness? I wonder...
